Anyone can draw, really! Beginners and students who need a refresher course will start with drawing basics from which you will gain skills and confidence. Learn about various drawing tools and techniques such as contour drawing, shading, perspective, and portraiture. Each class will feature a brief lesson about an artist to expand your knowledge of art history. This foundation course is applicable and carries over into other mediums as your artist journey progresses. A supply list is provided at the time of registration. Prerequisite to Drawing 102.

This class will introduce the fundamentals of visual storytelling and experiment with creative self-expression through traditional illustration. In this class, students will learn how to take their drawings to the next level by establishing a narrative to their work that conveys emotion and message. Numerous illustration categories will be explored such as picture books, editorials, portraiture, character design, and more! By the end of the class, students will have completed a body of work that reflects their artistic journey through the lens of illustrating! All skill levels are welcome; beginners are encouraged!
