About Adaptive Recreation for Kids

Orange Community Education & Recreation (OCER) seeks to create and promote inclusion across all facilities, programs and classes that we offer. We welcome people of all ages and abilities to participate in any of our programs. Our goal is to ensure that all individuals have equitable access to the benefits of high-quality educational and recreational programs that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. We aim to make our programs as inclusive as possible, but we also offer a variety of adaptive programs to meet participants' needs as well.

Adaptive Recreation for Kids classes aim to:

  • Provide safe, fun and enjoyable opportunities for participants with special needs.
  • Meet each participant’s needs with care and concern.
  • Provide each participant with an opportunity to shine and share his or her special gifts.
  • Enable all participants to take risks while developing self-esteem.
  • Offer integrated opportunities for all children to appreciate diversity and develop empathy towards others.
