    Looking for something fun and engaging for your child on their day off? Join us for a School’s Out Special designed for Moreland Hills Elementary students! Additional details concerning scheduled activities and lunches will be announced via email to all registered families prior to the School’s Out Special.   • Learn to Skate

    Want to learn how to roller-skate or roller-blade? The Chagrin Valley Roller Rink (CVRR) offers a program that will teach you the basics, such as: starting, stopping, gliding, striding, squatting, marching, scissors, and crosses. The last lesson is a fun time skate and a chance for students to show their families what they’ve learned. Rental skates are included. Please call the CVRR regarding cancellations or with any questions at (440) 247-4224. Transportation is not provided. No lessons March 25.
  • World of Wizards (Gr. 3-5)

    Step into a world of imagination and wizardry! Over 4 magical weeks, wizards will be sorted into mystical houses, design their own wands, create slimy potions, and bring magic to life through hands-on projects. Each class combines creative crafts, fun quizzes, and lively group discussions inspired by magical stories, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and a love for reading.     Join your friends in making SLIME! With guidance, your child will make two batches of different kinds of slime. Each child will leave with 2 decorated containers of slime to play with!     Ready to try a new sport every week? Our Sports Sampler class is the perfect way for kindergarteners and 1st graders to explore a variety of sports in a fun, no pressure environment! Each week, kids will dive into a different activity, learning basic skills, playing exciting games, and discovering what they love. It's a fantastic opportunity to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence, all while having a blast! No class February 3.   • Future Scientists (Gr. K-2)

    Students will learn about animal characteristics as it relates to animal genes & heredity, explore the relationship between moving moon & extraordinary earth, learn about metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous rocks as well as ERUPT their own volcano in rocky rocks & erupting volcanoes! They will also investigate solutes and solvents in sensational slime, experiment with the forces of magical magnets, understand how molecules are arranged and how they move in moving matter, and the science of tough teeth!     Our one-of-a-kind cooking class is perfect for kids who want to learn to be a chef in the kitchen from soup to nuts! This class will teach your children the skills that they can use for a lifetime! Kids will be designing, cooking, measuring, decorating, and sharing ideas. It's a perfect class for any level, and every child will learn new recipes from scratch while adding their own creative spin! They will also engage in structured games, crafts and activities. They will have a blast playing with their food and eating it too! No class February 3 and February 13.   • Eco Explorers: STEAM IN NATURE- Arctic Adventure

    Journey with us to the top of the world! Together we’ll learn more about the Arctic including its unique environment, wildlife, and culture. Students will construct a mini igloo, test what makes ice melt, and create unique art inspired by the glowing colors of the Aurora Borealis. This series blends science, creativity, and imagination for an Arctic adventure like no other!
  • Power Play Gym Games (Gr. K-3)

    The power play gym games class is a great way for students to burn off all that energy by playing their favorite games! The program is designed to bring the excitement of physical education and summer camp right into the after school hours. Experienced coaches will lead a variety of tag games, classic playground games like capture the flag and kickball, and much more! Coaches will create a safe environment that fosters teamwork and sportsmanship in this exciting class that will guarantee a fun and active time! No class February 4.   • Jr Future Fashion Stars (Gr. K-2)

    Do you have a passion for fashion? Do you like being creative? How about having fun with friends while you make something awesome! Join us this winter for our one-of-a-kind enrichment program. Created by industry professionals, fashion educators & led by graduates from Kent State University’s fashion program. This winter we will create a fashion line from concept to collection. The students will work individually and as a team to create their designs. We teach them step by step and lead them through the creative process. The curriculum is built on academic principles and real world industry experiences. Concepts for this session are but not limited to color palettes, vision boards, basic sewing, illustrations, upcycling techniques, and more! No class on February 4.     Wanna make video games? Love building with LEGO® bricks? This club is for you. Learn how to create video games using Scratch, free software from MIT that you can use at home long after the class. Then, we'll bring the action to life as we build and program LEGO® mini robots. If you've taken this course before, don't worry! We explore different themes and make different games and robots each time. Parents, you may choose to send a USB flash drive for your student to save projects, create an online Scratch login for them so they can save to the cloud. No class February 12.   • Eco Explorers: Winter Wildlife Detectives

    Join us for an exciting adventure into the winter wilderness! In Winter Wildlife Detectives, young naturalists will explore how animals survive and thrive during the coldest months of the year. Children will learn to identify animal tracks in the snow (or use creative stamp replicas indoors), build cozy shelters using natural materials, and discover the fascinating ways animals adapt—whether they hibernate, migrate, or tough it out with special winter survival strategies. When looking for signs of wildlife remember that tracking doesn’t mean just footprints!
  • Gymnastics (Gr. K-2)

    WEBBY Gymnastics class will challenge the children by learning progression based skills that focus on flexibility, strength and memory. We will use equipment and small props to let their imagination soar through weekly themed obstacle courses, tumbling and floor routines. No class February 13.   • Kids' Pickleball (Gr. 2-5)

    Come learn about the fastest growing sports in the US! Each week students will be taught the fundamentals of pickleball including forehand and backhand strokes, serving, returning the serve, etc. Students will engage in practice tasks each week to help them improve their skill abilities. Players will also be introduced to age-appropriate games that will keep them excited about playing the sport! Coaches will create a positive learning environment to help children have a great time while learning about a new sport! No class February 13, and March 13.   • Beginning Checkmate Chess (Gr. K-5)

    Progress With Chess is excited to offer two class levels to cater to students' interests and needs, ranging from Beginner to Intermediate! Students in the Beginner section will be able to complete a legal game of chess by the end of the session. Students will learn how the pieces move, all of the various rules and caveats of chess, as well as basic checkmating patterns and endgames. Please be advised, Progress with Chess may move your child to intermediate if in the child's best interest. Each session will now include a giveaway at the end of the session to further your child’s playing ability! No class February 13. Students will learn more complex checkmating sequences and endgames, and will be introduced to tactics, opening principles, and basic positional strategy.     In this program, we’ll explore how Arctic animals survive in the cold by discovering how they stay warm and how they move. Through fun activities and animal mimicry, we’ll uncover the secrets of blubber, thick fur, and smart movement strategies that help these creatures thrive in freezing environments. And if there’s snow on the ground, get ready, we’ll conduct a special hands-on experiment to see how it really feels to be built for the cold!
  • National Pizza Day: Parent-Child Pizza Making Workshop

    Join us at Young Chefs Academy for this special, one-time parent-child workshop where you and your child will learn the delicious art of pizza making from scratch. Learn the secrets to a perfect pizza crust and knead your own dough, craft a homemade, flavorful pizza sauce, customize your individual pizzas with your favorite cheeses and toppings. Take your freshly baked masterpiece home to enjoy or eat it right in the academy. Transportation is not provided. Each child must be accompanied and partnered with an adult.
