  • Indoor Lap Swim

    Lap Swim Information: Schedule is subject to change and 3 lanes will be open for lap swim only. Lap swimming is a structured swim time performed within designated lanes in a pool, where swimmers swim continuously back and forth across the length of the pool. Swimmers may arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled time and must leave 5 minutes after their scheduled time has ended. Locker rooms are open for changing. Please only use the ADA bathrooms if you have mobility issues that make it difficult to use the locker rooms. No cash payments will be taken at the pool. Lifeguards will remove weak/non-swimmers from the pool to maintain safe aquatic environments. Additional rules apply; please see posted rules at the facility. Lifeguards are present for your safety; please follow instructions given by lifeguards quickly.
  • Springboard Diving

    This Learn to Dive program is designed to teach the safe and proper way to use the diving board. Those enrolling must be able to swim safely in deep water without flotation devices, be able to pass the deep water swim test, and be comfortable completing a head-first entry off the diving board. This class will teach both front and back takeoff, mid-flight, and feet-first and head-first entry with individualized attention. Section A: Beginner Class In this introductory class, beginner diving skills are taught. Diving basics, such as approaches, forward and back fall-ins, and diving technique will be introduced. This class teaches beginners the basics of competitive diving. Kids will practice approaches, jumps in various body positions, forward dives and back dives. Section B: Intermediate Class Dives that would be performed in competition are introduced in this level, including somersaults, inwards, and twisting dives. Divers with more advanced skills should register for this class, as the instructor will work at their individual level. To participate in this class, swimmers must have completed section A or have equivalent experience. Section C: Advanced Class An advanced springboard diving class builds upon prior experience, focusing on refining techniques and introducing more complex dives. Participants will improve their approach, takeoff, flight, and entry components while learning new skills like reverses, inwards, and twisting dives. To participate in this class, swimmers must have completed section B or have equivalent experience.
  • Adult Learn to Swim

    This program is for those who have little to no swimming ability. Here we will conquer any fear of the water with our small class size that will provide ample time to practice. We will encourage learning at an individual pace and focus on floating, swimming on front and back and treading water.

    Orange Community Swim Team

    Swimmers: take your mark: Go! Join this fun, learning swim team for beginners and intermediate swimmers. Swimmers should be able to easily swim multiple laps with recognizable strokes to join this program. All swimmers will get instruction on stroke development and work on starts, turns, and finishes to prepare swimmers for club swim teams and/or participation on their school swim teams. The beginner group will focus on fundamentals and will mainly center on freestyle and backstroke development. Prerequisites for this group is that swimmers have participated in swim lessons and have been introduced to freestyle and backstroke. Swimmers must be able to comfortably swim one length of the pool (25 yards) in freestyle. Swimmers will continue to develop freestyle and backstroke and be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly. The intermediate group's focus will be on stroke mechanics and technique for all four strokes. Advanced stroke mechanics and drills will be introduced. Additionally, these swimmers will also be given sets and workouts to improve their endurance. Perquisites for this group is that swimmers must be able to complete 50 yards of each of the following strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.

Following the standards of the American Red Cross, our Learn to Swim program is designed for children of all ages and abilities. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace in groups with low student to instructor ratios. Instructors will move swimmers to a different level if abilities require. Please check dates and times of classes carefully; we cannot change days/times and do not provide make-ups for missed classes. New spots are sometimes opened; if a class is full, please sign up on a waiting list and swimmers will be added to the class as space allows. Pre - registration is required; registration does not take place at the pool. Pre-level 1: Parent Play Ages 1-4 A fun time for parents to go in the water with children! One child per parent, please. If a child is not toilet trained, then swim diapers MUST be worn. This class offers water adjustment skills using toys, games and songs. To advance to the next level, swimmers must be 3 years of age, comfortable in the water and able to go in the water with assistance.

Level 1: Water Exploration Ages 3 + Swimmers will practice putting their faces in the water and learn to float and swim on their own. Classes are individualized in order to encourage children to attempt new skills. To advance to the next level, swimmers must perform 10 bobs, sit dive with face in, front and back float unassisted and swim 5 feet unassisted.
  • Learn to Swim Level 2: Stroke Readiness

Following the standards of the American Red Cross, our Learn to Swim program is designed for children of all ages and abilities. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace in groups with low student to instructor ratios. Instructors will move swimmers to a different level if abilities require. Level 2: Stroke Readiness Ages 4+ Swimmers will increase their ability to do skills on their own, thus preparing them to learn strokes. To advance to the next level, swimmers must perform a sit dive with a kick glide, beginner stroke with 5 breaths, sculling with flutter kick. Swimmers also must be able to swim out and change directions and jump in, recover and swim.

Swimmers will be spaced out in the lap lanes and must be confident swimming alone in deep water as the instructor will be teaching from the deck while swimmers are in the water learning strokes. Children who are not strong enough swimmers will be removed from this class. To advance to the next level, swimmers must jump into deep water with recovery, swim front and back crawl for 15 yards, elementary backstroke, dolphin kick and be able to do a squat dive.

Level 4: Stroke Development Ages 6 + Swimmers begin swimming laps of the pool, improving strokes learned in level 3 and learn new strokes. To advance to the next level, swimmers must swim freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke for 25 yards and be able to do a standing dive.

Adaptive Group Swim Lesson Class Ages: 5-12 This program is small group swim lessons for children with diverse abilities and classes are individualized to the needs of the participants for them to become comfortable and safe in the water. Classes are limited to 2 participants and it is for beginner and intermediate participants learning to swim and water safety. Swimmers will practice putting their faces in the water and learn to float and swim on their own. Children will attempt new skills.
  • Lifeguard Training Class

    This course will certify participants in American Red Cross Lifeguarding for employment. Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. To participate, students must be at least 15 years of age by the last class (proof of age required) and pass the prerequisites swim tests given on the first day (200 yard swim, treading water, & retrieval of brick). Attendance at every class is required as is access to a computer for course work outside of class. Students should bring: pen, paper, swimsuit, goggles, towel, CPR Rescue Mask, and contact case if needed. No refunds after successfully completing the pre-test. Failure of swim test on prerequisites orientation will result in a refund minus $25 fee for pre-test. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. A minimum of 5 participants are required to run a lifeguard training class. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 15 years Complete a swim- tread-swim sequence: Jump into the water submerge resurface swim 150 yards (using the front crawl breaststroke or a combination of both) maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs then swim 50 yards using the front crawl breaststroke or a combination of both. Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds by starting in the water swimming 20 yards surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 12 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point holding the object at the surface with both hand exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
