  • Learn to Swim Level 4: Stroke Development

    LEARN TO SWIM We believe every child should learn to swim. While fun and a great form of exercise, learning to swim can also keep your child safe in and around water. Following the standards of the American Red Cross, our Learn to Swim program is designed for children of all ages and abilities. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace in groups with low student to instructor ratios. Instructors will move swimmers to a different level if abilities require. Please check dates and times of classes carefully; we cannot change days/times and do not provide make-ups for missed classes. New spots are sometime opened; if a class is full, please sign up on a waiting list and swimmers will be added to the class as space allows. Pre - registration is required; registration does not take place at the pool. Level 4: Stroke Development Ages 6 + Swimmers begin swimming laps of the pool, improving strokes learned in level 3 and learn new strokes. To advance to the next level, swimmers must swim freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke for 25 yards and be able to do a standing dive.

To advance to the next level, swimmers must be 3 years of age, comfortable in the water and able to go in the water with assistance.

Each day will be filled with new adventures, games, and activities that will encourage campers to try something new and explore their creative side with their friends! friends! Camps will be run by professional coaches who often have ties to our Orange Athletics department or have experience coaching youth players in a developmental setting. Orange Youth Sports Basketball Camp will return this summer, offering a full week of basketball skills, drills, and competitions, to get you ready for the upcoming season. This camp is for campers currently in grades K-8 (school year ending June 2024). This camp will include basketball and character development skills while teaching fun ways to enjoy the game. Teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and discipline will also be stressed to the campers. The staff will create a positive, safe and fun environment for the players by featuring fun, innovative drills that can lead them to basketball excellence in their futures. Players will be divided into equal skill-level groups. All equipment will be provided by the staff. Please wear appropriate basketball shoes.   • Little Mermaids and Pirates Dance Camp

    Dive into a magical world of enchanting mermaids and daring pirates in this swashbuckling dance camp. Set sail on a sea of creativity as your young buccaneer dances gracefully like a mermaid and stomps like a fearless pirate. Join us for a week filled with aquatic adventures where campers will dance to the rhythm of the waves, craft their own mermaid tails and pirate hats, and sing sea shanties that echo across the seven seas. Family and friends are invited to the ocean for the Friday show (details provided on Thursday, 6/20)!   • Lullaby of Broadway: Sleepaway Camp

    A one-week overnight camp located at Ursuline College. Spend an entire week with your theatre friends participating in a variety of workshops and fun filled activities such as crafts, movies, swimming, and more. Participants must be enrolled in Stagecrafters Day Camp the same session that Lullaby is held. The Lullaby experience includes sleeping accommodations, all meals and transportation to and from the Orange Schools campus. This resident camp is not product oriented!   • Luncheon Cruise & Cleveland Aquarium

    All aboard the Lady Caroline for a scrumptious luncheon followed by a self-guided tour of the Cleveland Aquarium. Your luncheon includes a freshly prepared buffet meal with coffee, tea and water. Next, enjoy Cleveland and our local waterways as you see our city, river and lake in a whole new light while enjoying the sounds of DJ entertainment. Following the cruise you will venture over to the Cleveland Aquarium to view eel, sharks, and 2,700 other intriguing aquatic animals.     It is time to put the pieces together and create something marvelous! Join us for our very first Mosaic art program. Mosaic creations focus on utilizing patterns, objects, colors, and unique materials to create an overall visual experience. Think of a puzzle but it is completely pieced together by your imagination! Each participant will create their own mosaic creation using a wide variety of different materials and objects provided by us! The goal is to have everyone create their own visual story that is personal to themselves! This program will be held at the incredible Orange Art Center located at 31500 Chagrin Blvd in Pepper Pike!   • National Donut Day

    Celebrate National Donut Day with your friends at the Orange Senior Center. Donut Day is celebrated in the United States and in other countries on the first Friday in June each year, succeeding the Doughnut event created by the Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor those who served doughnuts to soldiers during WW1. Drive thru the parking lot to receive a fresh donut and a cup of coffee! Registration deadline is June 3; sponsored by our friends at Solon Pointe.
  • Natural Dye - Botanical Printing on Fabric

    Learn how to natural dye with food scraps and flowers. Each student will receive a blank 100% cotton bandana and a variety of natural dye materials. Students are highly encouraged to bring their own additional materials to experiment with (i.e. an old flower bouquet, leaves, onion skins, tea bags, etc.); this is your chance to get creative! Students will learn the basics of natural dyeing and how to make colors stable for washing. This is a 90-minute make-and-take workshop and no experience is necessary! Ages 16+ are welcome to attend. Please wear clothes you do not mind getting a bit messy.
