Winter 2025

Capture the natural beauty of plants with botanical watercolor techniques. From start to finish, you'll learn how to create beautiful paintings of botanical subjects, including leaves, flowers, roots, fruit, and pollinators. Techniques include layering transparent washes, dry brush, and adding highly detailed elements to bring your compositions to life. Whether you're new to watercolor or looking to refine your skills, this class has something for everyone. A supply list is provided at registration.

Catherine Park

OAC Faculty

Catherine Park grew up in an artistic family in Minneapolis. Her connection with watercolor began in high school, where she had her first exhibition of her artwork. At Vassar College, she studied drawing, oil painting and art history. After completing an MFA in creative writing at Columbia and moving to Cleveland, she dabbled in wood block and intaglio print-making. In 2015 she returned to her first love, watercolor. Soon she discovered her fascination with the precision and detail of botanical art.
