Youth enrichment camps offer children the opportunity to explore new things from cooking to photography to music and more!
Join us and learn basic rules, beginner principles, tactical themes and checkmate patterns in a supportive environment. Instruction will be provided by “Progress with Chess”, a local nonprofit organization that conducts chess programs in over 50 Cleveland area schools and recreation centers. Many studies have demonstrated that chess improves cognitive and decision-making skills. Beginning students will master the rules and moves of the pieces. More experienced players will learn strategy, tactics, and checkmate patterns. Sessions will include interactive lessons and problem-solving exercises, with ample time for supervised open play.
