CLE Codes Intro to Python Programming

Just for Teens -
Fall 2025

This course will teach students the basics of programming. Specifically, they will use the Python programming language to develop simple games and calculations. Python is a versatile and easy to learn programming language, making it the first programming language taught at colleges. It is used by hobbyists as well as big companies like Netflix, Spotify, and Google, allowing students to use the skills they develop throughout their programming journey. Participants will learn fundamental programming concepts and the basics of the Python programming language. Studying Python serves as a foundational step to learn other languages in the future. Along the way, students will develop critical thinking skills that they can apply to everyday life. Class is taught by OHS Sophomore Nathan Miller.

Nathan Miller is a Sophomore at Orange High School and has been coding for 5 years. He is looking forward to teaching these courses for the third time. He has experience with Python, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, Robotics, and web development. Nathan earned an Honorable Mention for the website he created for the Congressional App Challenge, and is the incoming Secretary of the award winning OHS Robotics Team. He remembers how he fell in love with programming through camps like these, and he wants to give that experience to others.
