The Orange Art Center (OAC) is a division of Orange Community Education & Recreation. OAC is located on the Orange Schools campus and has a 40-year history of offering fine art classes to adults and K-12 young artists.
Lions Club Extended Care is a before and after school and camp activity-based program for students in grades K-5, focusing on social and recreational activities designed to provide children with a choice of developmentally appropriate activities.
The Orange Senior Center is the district's focal point for programs and services specific to individuals age 55 and over. The program provides opportunities for enrichment, education, socialization and companionship in a welcoming atmosphere.

Youth enrichment camps offer children the opportunity to explore new things from cooking to photography to music and more!
Bring your own ideas to life in this open studio format class. Work in the medium of your choice: oil, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel, chalk pastel, collage, drawing, or mixed media. Receive individualized instruction, technique demonstrations, and feedback tailored to your goals. Explore methods, develop your personal style, and create at your own pace. This relaxed, supportive studio environment is ideal for artists who enjoy working independently with professional guidance. Intermediate and advanced students are welcome. Students supply their own materials. Please note: Turpentine and traditional paint thinners are not permitted in OAC studios. Odorless paint thinner is required for oil painting.
A graduate of Orange High, Peters attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts on scholarship to be educated in classical materials and techniques. He then attained his BFA in painting with a minor in filmmaking from Kent State University. After completing his degree he traveled Europe to explore museums and paint. He returned to America and lived and worked in Kent, Ohio and Key West, Florida. For 18 years Peters spearheaded an award winning art program for hospitalized veterans at the VA in Brecksville and Cleveland, Ohio. He also taught evening school at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Environmental Art at Hiram College and taught many years at the Orange Art Center. Alan continues to paint at his studio farm nestled in the heart of Amish country in Northeast Ohio. Peters’ work has been included in numerous exhibitions, and has been collected both nationally and internationally including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Progressive Collection and the Hugo and Carla Brown collection in The Hague.
