    We believe that EVERY child deserves to have the summer of a lifetime! Orange Community Education & Recreation is pleased to offer a variety of adaptive summer camps for children with special needs. These specialty camps include daily opportunities for socialization through art, physical activities, group games, special visitors, skill-building experiences, swimming and much, much more. All camps are led by licensed, highly-qualified specialists and feature small group sizes. Registration opens at 12pm on January 29!

We welcome all people of all ages and abilities to participate in any of our programs. Our goal is to ensure that all individuals have equitable access to the benefits of high-quality educational and recreational programs that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. Our seasoned, dedicated staff are highly trained and licensed professionals that are skilled in their area of expertise, have extensive experience working with participants with special needs and demonstrate the ability to embrace the inclusive nature of our organization. Another big component of our programs that set us apart is our encouragement and promotion of integrating those without disabilities to join in on all of our experiences. We are actively seeking children and adults that want to discover the value of playing and learning side by side. Adaptive & Integrated Recreation Programs for Families aim to: Create an environment in which families can build a sense of community with one another. Meet each family's needs with care and concern. Provide engaging and enjoyable opportunities for fun, learning and growth. Promote self-confidence and growth through a positive recreational environment. Create opportunities for everyone to experience recreation together.

Participant Accommodation Plan For those parents that would find it helpful, Orange Community Education & Recreation offers participants with special needs the opportunity to meet one-on-one (prior to participating in a program) to create an individualized Participant Accommodation Plan. The plan is not required to participate in any of our programs, however, it can help us identify what programs make a good fit and how we can help support the participant. During this one-on-one meeting, you can tell us all about your child and we can work together to create a plan for success.     The Adult Recreation & Discovery departments offers a comprehensive array of classes and workshops for adults of all ages in the areas of artistry, craftsmanship and design, cooking, career development, health, fitness and wellness, language, travel, technology, adult sports and more. Classes are offered in the traditional classroom setting and online.

    The Orange Senior Center is the district's focal point for programs and services specific to individuals age 55 and over. The program provides opportunities for enrichment, education, socialization and companionship in a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Auditions & Performances

    Stagecrafters Youth Theatre is a dramatic arts program which seeks to help each student realize a positive self-image through the practice and technique of theatre. The program seeks to provide a family atmosphere, fostering growth and confidence within each individual, through their philosophy of process over product. Stagecrafters prides itself on nurturing students' independence while maintaining the importance of teamwork. From afterschool and Saturday classes to Private Coaching for Acting and Voice, Stagecrafters offers a wide variety of classes and activities for students of all ages from preschool on up. We stage eight mainstage productions each year!
  • Baseball & Softball

    First base for many baseball players and athletes here in the community is the Parent / Child Little Lions Clinic. Athletes quickly swing in to league and gameplay as Kindergarteners with T-Ball and Coach Pitch Leagues. 3rd – 6th graders can participate in recreation-level baseball programs joining neighboring communities along the way. Finally, the travel baseball program continues to grow and expand and competes with the best teams in the area and has produced varsity athletes in our community. All programs give players at all ages and all skill levels an opportunity. More information for your program will be available upon registration.
  • Basketball

    The Basketball programs available to you are among out most popular and well attended programs. Your child can begin his or her basketball journey in our Parent / Child Classes, dribbling along to Kindergarten and 1st clinics, eventually graduating to league and gameplay at Grades 3 & 4. The travel basketball program competes with the best teams in the area and has produced varsity athletes in the community. Players at all ages and all skill levels are given an opportunity to join us. More information for your program will be available upon registration.

    Our programming with provide students with the opportunity to get hands-on with a wide range of topics to not only challenge children but also spark their creativity and natural skills!
  • Broadway Buddies

    Students with special needs will work along-side theatre professionals, licensed staff and experienced volunteers. Each “STAR” performer will be paired with a buddy who assists with all of the activities and staging scheduled for each rehearsal. Choreography will be adapted to individual needs. Performance held on the last day of class for family and friends. All abilities welcome
