  • Pi Day Pies

    March 14 is National Pi Day! Because it's 3/14; get it? In honor of this international celebration, we will make various kinds of pies. While our pies are baking, we will go on a scavenger hunt to find hidden pi-related clues such as... 3 markers, 1 notebook, 4 folders, etc. Because Pi is technically a never-ending number, we might not be able to find all the clues before it is time to go home! This once a year event is one you won't want to miss!
  • School's Out Specials

    No School? Have no fear, Orange Rec is here! Register your child to come join us for a day filled with laughter, fun and friends! Days will be filled with so many activities ranging from cooking, sports, arts & crafts, games, special guests and even at times, field trips! No need to pack a lunch, we will have something yummy provided while observing all dietary restrictions. Additional details concerning scheduled activities and lunches will be announced via email to all registered families prior to the School’s Out Special. Be sure to register in advance, space is limited!
  • Last Day of School Adventure!

    Reward your child for completing another successful school year by sending them on an awesome field trip with Orange Rec! As soon as students are released early from Moreland Hills Elementary, students will board the bus to travel to the Main Event in Avon for a day filled with adventure! No need to pack a lunch, we will enjoy pizza and snacks between all the fun. Students will return to the Pepper Pike Learning Center at approximately 4:50 pm to relax and wait for parent pickup. Register soon, space is limited!
  • Fashion Design for Sustainable Style Summer Camp

    Calling all fashionistas! Do you have a passion for fashion? Do you like being creative? How about having FUN with friends while you make something amazing? Join The Upcycle Academy for summer camp. Brought to you by fashion industry experts (NY/LA) and current Kent State University fashion students. We teach fashion design concepts through educational and fun hands-on activities. Our summer camp program focuses on developing campers abilities and amplifying their creative spirits. Activities include: COLOR - FASHION FIGURES - FLAT SKETCHING - TRENDS - MOOD BOARDS - STYLING - DESIGN - UPCYCLING. The last day of camp the students will showcase their designs in a photoshoot and special fashion show for parents and caregivers.     Our one of a kind cooking camp will teach your children the skills that they can use for a lifetime! Kids will be designing, cooking, measuring, decorating, and sharing ideas. It's a perfect camp for any level, and every child will learn new recipes from scratch while adding their own creative spin. They will also engage in structured games, crafts and activities while having a blast playing with their food and eating it too!   • Little Mermaids and Pirates Dance Camp

    Dive into a magical world of enchanting mermaids and daring pirates in this swashbuckling dance camp. Set sail on a sea of creativity as your young buccaneer dances gracefully like a mermaid and stomps like a fearless pirate. Join us for a week filled with aquatic adventures where campers will dance to the rhythm of the waves, craft their own mermaid tails and pirate hats, and sing sea shanties that echo across the seven seas. Family and friends are invited to the ocean for the Friday show (details provided on Thursday, 6/20)!     It's my party and the KIDS plan it the way they want to! This new and innovative camp will teach your child the essential skills and knowledge needed to plan and execute a memorable party. From concept development to budget management, your child will learn the skills to develop a well-organized party of their own which will include a theme, timeline, style, decorations, invitations, food choices, and every big and little detail for the celebration! Wizards-in-training will participate in potions class, learn spells and charms, discover exotic animals and creatures, play Quidditch, while exploring Hogwarts and making new friendships like Harry did with Ron and Hermione.   • Jr. GameBOT Camp

    Wanna make video games? Love building with LEGO® bricks? This camp is for you. Learn how to create video games using Scratch, free software from MIT that you can use at home long after the class. Then, we'll bring the action to life as we build and program LEGO® mini robots. If you've taken this course before, don't worry! We explore different themes and make different games and robots each time. Parents, you may choose to send a USB flash drive for your student to save projects, or provide a non-school email at registration, and we'll use it to help your student create a free online Scratch account and store projects in the cloud.   • Sr. GameBOT Camp

    Learn to code as you create video games and program LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Robots. Over multiple sessions we'll follow student interests to explore options such as Scratch, Alice 3D animation, Python, JavaScript, Arduino microprocessors and more. No prior programming experience necessary. If you've taken this class before, don't worry! There are new games and robot challenges each time. Parents, you may choose to send a USB flash drive for your student to save projects, or provide a non-school email at registration, and we'll use it to help your student create a free online accounts to store their projects. *Lions Club Extended Care is not available for campers before, between or after Discovery Camps.
  • Beginner Fencing Camp

    This class encompasses the fundamentals and techniques of Foil Fencing by focusing on the proper aspects of stretching, footwork, lunges, attack, bouting, tactics, strategy etiquette and sportsmanship. Education, safety and fun are key elements of the class. No experience is necessary and all fencing equipment is provided. Fencing is harder than you think, but with practice.   • Intermediate Fencing Camp

    This camp covers an advanced level of footwork and technical skills, bouting tactics, lunges, attack and parry-riposte while concurrently emphasizing etiquette and sportsmanship. The 7th & 8th parries will be added along with lateral and circular parries, offenses and penalties, and referee training. All equipment provided. Intermediates must have completed 1 previous beginner class at Orange or other fencing classes offered specifically by Tom Nagy of On Target Fencing. *Lions Club Extended Care is not available for campers before, between or after Discovery Camps.

    Calling all young entrepreneurs! Food trucks are taking over the country by storm - now is the chance for your child to learn how to create their own restaurant on wheels! This cooking camp will challenge your child to develop a theme, design their very own food truck, create a menu, and prepare recipes to sell on the last day of camp to the other campers!
